Here’s My Story

My name is Charlotte, and I’ve been avidly drinking and brewing coffee for over twenty years.

I mean, plenty of us have been drinking coffee for a long time, right? For me, it started when I was thirteen, out at the mall, and they had free cappuccino samples.

Well, I fell in love with coffee and espresso right away.

I must have spent ten minutes asking the woman with the samples how it was made, which led to questions about the machinery, and then she disclosed something to me.

She was the store owner. She brought me inside and showed me the machines behind the counter. I think my friends must have left after about a half-hour, but I was there until the bus came.

Needless to say, I frequented that shop. When I was sixteen, I got my first job there. Then college came, and coffee became a passion, not a career path.

I went to culinary school and headed a kitchen in a New York restaurant when I was twenty-three, and I’m pretty sure the barista hated me for constantly making coffees for customers when desserts were rolling out.

I made Inside The Hub because I wanted to share professional knowledge and firsthand experiences from the perspective of someone on the inside, who knows how coffee trading works and what industrial gear goes into a perfect, handcrafted cup of coffee.

It’s a passion project. I’m here to tell you what coffeemakers are good and which ones are garbage quality, the difference between espresso beans and regular coffee beans, all about the science behind caffeine in coffee and more.

This is a one-stop resource for everything you need to know about coffee: where it comes from, how to brew it, and what it does to you.

Pull up a mug and sit down; this is going to be fun.
